Biog . . .
Jill was born into a musical family and began singing from an early age. At the age of six she was a member of a large church choir which often toured the country giving public performances. She would sing in three part harmony with her two younger sisters to large audiences.
Growing up in a household where her father had a passion for brass bands she learnt to play several brass instruments and played in brass bands from the age of 10.
Jill trained to be a primary teacher and graduated from university with a Bed (Hons) in 1995. While at college she carried on with her love of singing by joining the university choir and performing in musicals.
Jill has been able to combine her love of music with teaching children and has always co-ordinated large school productions, taught music to young children and conducted youth choirs.
She joined a folk band for many years but inspired by the great voices of Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, moved towards jazz singing.
Jill loves to sing the well known favourites by writers such as Cole Porter and Gershwin.
